We hope that the information contained on this page will be helpful to parents/carers. Often parents ask for guidance about attendance at Nursery when their child has been ill. Here are some common childhood illnesses and conditions that we are frequently asked about. |

ILLNESS |
ACTION FOR NURSERY |
|
Chicken Pox |
Minimum of six days from the onset of the rash but longer if some spots still appear as blisters. |
|
Diarrhoea & Vomiting |
Children should be clear for at least 24 hours before returning to nursery. |
|
Coughs and Colds |
At parents discretion but please do not bring your child to nursery if they have a temperature, appear lethargic or are generally unwell. |
|
Head Lice |
Unfortunately cases do appear every year. Pleased ask your pharmacist for advice and treat immediately. Leaflets are available from nursery. Children can return to nursery as soon as they have been treated but please inform us. |
|
Asthma |
If your child needs an inhaler to be kept at school please supply written permission for staff to administer it with clear guidance on dosage and frequency. |
|
If you child is ill and unable to attend nursery please inform us so that absences can be recorded appropriately. |
